A visit to Norfolk over the turn of the year provided an opportunity to try out my new Canon eos 40D. I find that Norfolk is always worth a look and I have visited in all seasons. Weather was poor and birds not perhaps so plentiful as other times but there’s always something to see and photograph.

Marsh Tit is a declining species both nationally and in Norfolk so we were pleased to find one coming to a feeder on our last day

There are always Snow Buntings to be found in Norfolk in the winter. They favour coastal shingle, unlike in Scotland where the are often found around the ski slopes! This is the whiter male bird

Another bird of the coast is the Lapland Bunting. They are rarer but found in much the same places as the Snow Bunting
