Snow is a wildlife photographer's friend. It simplifies composition allowing us to better concentrate on appreciating the subject. Recently we had a window of a couple of days of snow. Provided you get get to a site you can get pleasing pictures. For the past couple of days I have visited a friend's garden. It is at a slightly higher altitude than home so the snow took a little longer before turning to rain. Even so, the cover was only sporadic and what fell from the sky was more like sleet. Niger seed brought in finches including this fine Redpoll. Larch provided a convenient perch for the bird and for the photographer. |
