A nice crisp winter day with glorious sunshine, so we had to get out to the coast and enjoy it! The shoreline itself was pretty quiet, but a pig farm provided our first highlight - a murmuration of Starlings that gave a spectacular aerial display in broad daylight. The flyover of a Peregrine might have had something to do with that. Our second highlight was quite different - a field of very obliging Pinkfeet, that were intent on feeding and drinking, so completely ignored our car parked at a gap in the hedge. It was also a four raptor day with lots of Buzzards, a Sparrowhawk, a Peregrine and lastly a Kestrel. |
