As we move past the shortest day it becomes harder and harder to get pictures of birds. Today, whilst shopping we found a decent group of Waxwings. We returned to the spot as the rain was easing only to find them flying away almost immediately. Soon after we spotted the Sparrowhawk on the roof. Bah! In the afternoon the rain had eased but rivers and streams were in spate. A kingfisher was located on a local pond and allowed a picture or two. We put two different visitors to the park on to the Kingfisher and gave each a thrill. It was their first Kingfisher sighting. It felt like a good deed for the day sending them off a little happier. |
