Every year we try to make a short visit to the west coast of Scotland to see the Spring Butterflies and Dragonflies. This year is so late that they were not out in force. Nevertheless we managed to find a Chequered Skipper when the Bluebells were still in force. Usually they are spent by the end on May. We also managed good looks at Black Guillemot, a bird we see every visit but not generally as well as this year. All in all a very successful trip despite the single figure temperatures. |
