Already we are seeing signs that Spring is not far off. Great Tits are singing, as are Greenfinches, Dippers and Dunnocks. Long-tailed Tits are in pairs rather than winter feeding flocks, These are all early breeders. Some other birds are stating to get into position. In the town Goosanders are loafing around. They will soon be moving into the Tay river system, dispersing to smaller bodies of water. For now they are an opportunity for photography. They are active birds, seldom still unless preening. This female is skittering over the surface of the water. |
