A new addition to our local fauna has been the (European) Beaver. They are unauthorised - an official scheme is under-way on the West of the country.
Two years ago I discovered a beaver lodge whilst out walking. I visited it many times that year and last year but his year the residents were decidedly nocturnal. By chance I got a tip off at a new site. It is quite different but has been both better and worse, with the worse days rather fruitless but the better days providing very pleasing pictures.
Most of the pictures are of a beaver in the water but here we have a Beaver out and about munching the riverside vegetation, showing off its best feature - that wonderful tail. Long may they thrive.
