We are not long back from a trip to South Africa. Nocturnal mammals were the prime target so we did no fewer than eight night drives. Photographically these proved very difficult for a variety of reasons not least the dust which enveloped the vehicle if you stopped. It was like shooting into a snowstorm (at night). With that in mind I chose a picture opposite which is a rare example of the dust benefiting the pictorial effect. It is close to the mating season and the Springbok are getting frisky ready to contest who will be the genetic input to the next generation. |
