There aren't many days in winter we choose to go up high in the snow since we need bright weather, lack of wind and hopefully not many people!
Last Friday and today were both suitable, so we've had two winter climbs this year.
There wasn't enough snow for skiing, so we had a bit of the Glenshee hills to ourselves to enjoy all the Red Grouse, Mountain Hares and today, even a lovely pair of Ptarmigan.
By the car park there was a nice flock of around 20 Snow Buntings around enjoying the tit-bits. They soon flew off when a male Hen Harrier appeared however!
